The Negative Effects of Caffeine

For some, in particular, children, just one cup of coffee could affect them negatively. According to the National Health Institute, even though caffeine poses no danger when moderately consumed, it could still have a negative effect on one's general health. For example, you might not be eating properly because caffeine affects your appetite.

Coffee as a diuretic makes these kids urinate more, hence calcium is lost. Records have shown that for every 100 grams of caffeine about 6 grams of calcium is lost. Calcium is important for the growth of bones.

Stomach issues:

Kids have tiny systems that are not well equipped to deal with the potent force of caffeine. Just a little sip alone can cause heartburn and stomach problems for them.
